CORE YOGA
Yoga increases strength and flexibility to support us in our everyday life. The time we spend at the computer, bending over children, and even exercising can tighten up the body. Grant yourself the time to unwind.
Core Yoga is a mixture of vinyasa yoga and yoga conditioning. By lengthening the muscles and building our internal support system, the core, we feel more comfortable in our bodies and are able to move with ease and confidence.
I teach a carefully crafted sequence that targets specific problem areas related to our modern existence, finishing with a healing, sound-led svasana. With over ten years practicing many different yoga styles, as well as barre, pilates and interval training, I bring together the best from all these disciplines to create a yoga style that focuses on building support from the inside out.
I am a Yoga Alliance Professionals registered teacher with a 200 hours yoga teacher training certification in the Yoga Like Water method and an accredited sound therapist from the British Academy of Sound Therapy.
THE HOUSE
The body is our house and our core is the foundations. They need to be strong to support our movement and the increased flexibility which comes from yoga. Our breath is the windows, a communication between without and within. It grounds and focuses us so we know where we stand. And our spirit is the roof, it must be settled and secure if we are to be truly at home with ourselves.
Bhāva is the Sanskrit word for house, relating to the astrological houses through which we are passing and must weather the changing tides of. It can also be translated as mindful intent or the gesture which follows the feeling. Working with body, breath, and spirit, we look to reach a place of calm and self love with the resilience to deal skilfully with what life throws at us.
It's time to get your house in order.
